MayBall.com is operated by Souradip Mookerjee. The marketing site at mayball.com and the ticketing platform at mayball.cloud are both part of the same service. For questions about your data, contact hello@mayball.com.
What data we collect
Marketing site (mayball.com)
- Ticket alert signups: your email address and which events you're interested in.
- Contact form submissions: your name, email, organisation, and message.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. This collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, time on site, device type). No personally identifiable information is shared with Google.
Ticketing platform (mayball.cloud)
When you purchase a ticket through an event hosted on MayBall.com, the event committee is the data controller for your ticket data. We process data on their behalf as a data processor. This typically includes:
- Name, email address, and Cambridge authentication details (Raven/CRSid)
- Ticket type, payment information, and dietary requirements
- Entry scan timestamps (when you enter the event)
- Marketplace and transfer activity
How we use your data
- Ticket alerts: to email you when events you're interested in go on sale. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Contact forms: to respond to your enquiry.
- Ticketing: to process your ticket purchase, deliver your ticket (including Apple Wallet), handle name changes and transfers, and manage entry on the night.
- Analytics and reporting: to produce anonymised, aggregated statistics about platform usage (e.g. entry timelines, cross-ball attendance patterns). Individual ticket data is never published.
Who we share data with
- Event committees: receive ticket holder data for their event (names, emails, dietary info, entry scans). They are the data controller for their event.
- Stripe: processes payments securely. We do not store full card details.
- Google Analytics: receives anonymised usage data from the marketing site.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
Data retention
Ticket alert signups are retained until you unsubscribe. Ticket purchase data is retained for the duration required by the event committee and for our legitimate interest in providing year-over-year analytics (anonymised). You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@mayball.com.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Cookies
The marketing site uses Google Analytics cookies to understand site usage. The ticketing platform uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies.
