Overview
MayBall.com provides two services: a public marketing site with event directory, guides, and ticket alerts (at mayball.com), and a ticketing platform for event organisers (at mayball.cloud and custom domains). These terms cover both.
Marketing site (mayball.com)
The marketing site is free to use. Content including guides, articles, and event listings is provided for informational purposes. While we aim to keep information accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee that all event details (dates, prices, availability) are current. Always check with the event organiser directly.
Ticket alerts
By signing up for ticket alerts, you consent to receiving emails when events you've expressed interest in go on sale. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any alert email or by emailing hello@mayball.com.
Ticketing platform
For ticket buyers
When you purchase a ticket through an event hosted on MayBall.com, your contract is with the event organiser (typically a college May Ball committee), not with MayBall.com. The event organiser sets the ticket price, terms, and conditions for their event.
MayBall.com processes the transaction on behalf of the organiser. Refund and cancellation policies are set by the event organiser. Contact the event committee directly for refund requests.
Marketplace and transfers
Where an event enables marketplace or transfer features, MayBall.com facilitates the transfer between the original ticket holder and the new holder. Transfer fees (if any) are set by the event organiser. MayBall.com may retain a margin on marketplace transactions as disclosed at the time of transfer.
For event organisers
Event organisers using the MayBall.com platform agree to:
- Provide accurate event information
- Handle ticket holder data in accordance with UK GDPR
- Not use the platform for fraudulent or illegal purposes
- Cooperate with MayBall.com on security, compliance, and dispute resolution
MayBall.com provides the platform on a best-efforts basis. While we maintain high availability and security standards, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Specific service terms are agreed with each event organiser separately.
Intellectual property
Content on mayball.com (articles, guides, charts, templates) is copyright Souradip Mookerjee unless otherwise stated. Event committees may use the committee toolkit guides and templates for their own event planning. Redistribution or commercial use requires permission.
Event logos, names, and branding shown in the directory belong to their respective colleges and committees.
Limitation of liability
MayBall.com is provided "as is". We are not liable for:
- Event cancellations, changes, or quality issues (these are the organiser's responsibility)
- Inaccurate information in event listings (always verify with the organiser)
- Loss of data, though we take reasonable steps to prevent this
- Third-party services (Stripe, Apple Wallet, etc.) that we integrate with
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
